First, there is no need to deliberately shorten the maintenance cycle. Many consumers are not clear about the maintenance cycle of cars. Shortly after buying a new car, they listen to the words of some bad maintenance service personnel and shorten the maintenance cycle. In fact, as long as the maintenance is carried out according to the cycle above the maintenance manual and the actual situation of the car, there is no need to deliberately shorten the maintenance cycle.
The second is to prevent minor problems and major repairs. Some consumers don’t know much about cars and are easily deceived by dishonest repair shops or 4 S shops. Bad repair shops will deliberately exaggerate the failure of cars, raise the maintenance cost, and make consumers spend more money. Consumers are advised to go to familiar and qualified repair shops, take the initiative to ask for formal invoices and settlement lists, and carefully check each charging item.

The third is to prevent shoddy accessories and only replace them without repairing them. Some repair shops will use disassembled parts, off-line parts, auxiliary factory parts, etc. as genuine factory parts for car repair, so as to make shoddy parts and earn the difference. Sometimes, some accessories of the vehicle have minor faults, which only need simple maintenance and replacement, but the merchant directly asks the owner to replace the parts. When repairing the car, please pay attention to whether the outer packaging of the purchased parts, whether the printed fonts such as the parts number are clear, whether the parts packaging stickers are excellent, etc., and before replacement, let the other party admit in writing that they are genuine parts and promise warranty.
Fourth, be wary of replacing wearing parts in advance. Every time there is maintenance, the merchant will always check the corresponding wearing parts of the car, inform the consumer in time if there is any problem found, and ask whether to replace it, and what will be the consequences if it is not replaced. Sometimes, however, repair merchants will require early replacement or exaggerate the consequences of not replacing. In this case, if consumers can’t confirm whether what the service staff said is true, it is recommended to ask the staff to show the test credentials.

The fifth is to determine the maintenance items and check the maintenance list. When some consumers go to maintain their vehicles, they originally want to change the engine oil. As a result, repair shops or 4 S shops have introduced many seemingly useful maintenance items, such as in-depth maintenance of the engine, fuel addition, oil circuit cleaning and so on. There are also consumers who report that the repair list given by the repair shop is inconsistent with the actual repair items. It is recommended that consumers determine the necessary maintenance items in advance during maintenance, and be careful about adding non-essential maintenance items. After the car is repaired, carefully check and verify the actual maintenance items.
Sixth, prevent repair shops from using consumer vehicles privately. From time to time, there are reports that “vehicles are sent to auto repair shops for repair, but traffic accidents are caused by maintenance workers driving out without authorization”. It is recommended that consumers take the initiative to record the status of vehicles before they are sent for repair, especially pay attention to odometers and fuel gauges. When picking up your vehicle, check whether items and tools are missing. When abnormal situations or problems are found, keep abreast of the situation.
